Star Back Caps

star back capsDental Ez  has an awesome handpiece design in the Star 430 series. We have often been quoted as saying the Star 430 could handle most anything including being ran over by your car (not sure how that would happen). We may have been more accurate by adding to that statement "as long as you don't hit the Star Back Cap".

Star Back Caps Can Get Sticky

Star Back Caps are some of the worst to become sticky as they tend to get material around the circumference of the push button. In addition, if you have a strong grip, and tighten back too much after installing turbine, the Star Back Caps tend to pull apart from the threads. Should you see this, just take an explorer pick and back out the separated threads from handpiece head, and clean handpiece head interior before replacing turbine. Of course, you will also be replacing the Star Back Cap as well. Just give the new one a little less torque when tightening this time.
