Handpiece Gauges – Check Pressure At Point Of Use
Use handpiece gauges to check air line pressures at the handpiece connection point to ensure you are operating as close to manufacturers recommendations as possible. This helps ensure the efficiency of the handpiece and protects the turbine. Believe it or not, varying pressures as little as one psi can affect the handpiece. Many times, unit air pressures are not accurate, and pressure is lost between the unit gauge and length of hose to handpiece connector. Some of the newer handpieces, such as the Kavo 6500, have built in pressure regulation, but most do not have protection against over pressure. These gauges are easy to use. Just screw gauge onto handpiece, then attach the gauge/handpiece assembly to your unit, and run handpiece. Air pressure displayed will be accurate to the point of use.
