Midwest RDH – Hygiene Handpiece
One of the most highly sought after hygiene handpieces is the Midwest RDH. Available for both plastic and metal shaft prophy angles, the 4,000 rpm Midwest RDH is very light, and comfortable to use. Midwest incorporates friction grip type chucks in the swivel nose cone of the RDH handpieces, which hold up very well with an occasional spray from your favorite handpiece lubricant/cleaner at the point where prophy is inserted. There are several slots in the chuck which can be kept clear using this process, increasing the life of the chuck and the handpiece. Friction grip chucks work well for the hygiene application, where heads are replaced often throughout the day.
Midwest RDH – Feather Lite
One of the lightest slow speed handpieces available, the Midwest RDH weighs in at under 3 ounces. Very light shell and the use of the friction grip chuck, which requires no actuator knob, or spring, saves on total handpiece weight. Handpiece has very strong bearings, sized and manufactured to handle well above the typical speed for good prophy paste application. Used with good quality prophys, the Midwest RDH should last years before requiring a new chuck or other repair.
