NSK X95L Electric Handpiece

The NSK X95L electric 1:5 speed increasing contra angle is a great handpiece. Super spray pattern keeping bur cool, same debris intrusion system as air driven handpieces keeping cartridge interior free of foreign particles. Speaking of cartridges, the NSK X95L cartridge helps eliminate water line problems, as all tortuous paths water must travel through are replaced with each new cartridge. This is a quality very specific to NSK and Brasseler.

The NSK X95L is a standard head handpiece. Staying with the standard head, especially in electric handpieces, is important. Remember, these are driven by gears, not by air. More heat generated inside head. Standard head handpieces have more air space, and thus, more space for heat to dissipate. And again, smaller head handpieces require the use of smaller diameter bearings. Just will not last as long with today’s technology.

I would recommend that, if the smaller head 1:5 contra angles are needed for pedo use, keep a few on hand for just that purpose, but stick to the standard head NSK X95L as your every day workhorse. If a smaller head is required, then try the NSK Z95L. the Z95L is about 15% smaller and enjoys the same technology as the larger head.
