Sirona introduced one of the first air powered turbine driven handpieces in 1958. This 300,000 rpm handpiece was the beginning of a revolution in the industry. The Sirona turbine is a patented design which operates near vibration free and cuts well at lower speeds. Torque is very good and handpieces hold up well to the autoclave cycle. Sirona CEREC – 3D Dental Mill
In 1987 Sirona launched the CEREC CAD/CAM 3D dental milling machine, which is now the most popular in office crown and bridge machine on the market. Modeling the CEREC after computerized CNC machines, Sirona was able to provide a compact, stand alone unit doctors seem to love. Many offices now have their own lab onsite, cutting turn around times and, in some cases, performing crown work in fewer visits. CEREC software produces near perfect replicas in minimal time.
